Rise and Shine

Rise and Shine

-Avleen Kaur Lamba

Amidst the sadness, the dull crowd,

Some people with lit faces spread happiness around.

When people feel they are the only ones,

Who suffer from tiny problems but they seem present in tonnes.

We’ll say to them come on look beyond,

Talk to people, share, love, create a bond!

Until you believe it, it’s never the end,

Dont jump off the cliff, but surely bend.

Bend and see the deep blue sea,

And then look behind the world saying “Come explore me!”

Look closely at the happy people, not from far,

They hide it well, but have a deep scar.

All that makes them different is their strong hope,

They know it’s a small hard phase and they can cope.

The message to the world is everything’s gonna be fine,

Stand up high, strengthen the hope, Rise and Shine!

We’re The Ones We’ve Been Waiting For!

We’re the ones We’ve been Waiting for

-Avleen Kaur Lamba

Waiting for the buzzing alarm to wake you up in the morn,

Or expecting your mom to drag you out of your yawn?

Waiting for some energy to creep into you and take you on a morning walk,

Or secretly wishing some genie could find you and make you fly with the flock?

Waiting for the time when you could actually concentrate in class,

Or hoping to stumble on a guru who could make you meditate without a fast?

Waiting for someone to befriend you,

Respect you, admire you, love you only when you’re you?

Waiting and waiting for someone who could excite your mind,

Make you write poetry and not let go of your foregone passion behind?

Waiting for someone to stand up and answer that moron,

Who has nothing to spread but everything wrong?

Waiting for someone to make you finally change the world,

‘Cause you’ve come here for a purpose, not just play and work!

Then get up you, if you think and feel the same way,

As We’re The Ones We’ve Been Waiting For, Heroes of Today.

Ray Of Hope

When the world would sleep in the brightness of Sun,

When the world would hide behind the jobs they’ve never done,

When the world would get sick in spring with no ailment,

When the world listening to music would turn deaf to your qualms,

When the world in debate would become dumb to console you,

When the world travelling would be blind to see you in pain,

A helping hand from a power would arrive,

Would advise you to love yourself and strength to strive,

Never borrow but always his help he would lend,

God would become your lifelong friend.
